Pray for Us – Gustav Headed This Way

Andy and Austin got in town this morning from New Orleans. After the LSU game at 10, they will start the contra-flow of traffic. Crazy part is, the storm is likely to hit Lafayette and Alexandria rather than New Orleans, but at least the storm will be weaker when it gets here.

Of course we’re praying for you guys! It’s wild here in Hattiesburg. No hotel rooms at all. And bunches of Ragin’ Cajuns in town today for the game with Southern Miss. We took a direct hit in Katrina and it was very bad here, though not much loss of life. Many people up here were out of their homes for as long as a year. A few houses still have blue tarps on the roof

Our family hunkered down and by the grace of God got through Charley, Frances, and Jeanne in ’04. I pray God’s blessings of mercy and protection on you and yours, Brad! Kyrie eleison. Christe eleison. Kyrie eleison.

Praying for ya’ll. While we’d like to get some rain and cool weather up here in North TX we don’t want it at the expense (and possible injury) of others.

We’re praying for you, too. One of our prayers is that God would cause it (and Hannah and others) to dissipate.

The eye of this thing is going between Mad Potter’s TV and his lounge chair. Teddy is right in the middle of it too.

There are thousands who cannot leave.

    Soak this situation in prayer.

Plan to come help cut up trees on people’s houses.

Hold contributions for parishes (church not civil) who are on the ground where the damage is occuring. Let Red Cross raise the big money and administrative budgets. Lafayette Convocation has 8 churches that will be hit and will know best where to put the direct contributions to work.

Prier pour nous et tous les autres Acadiennes qui va endurer Gus.

    Brad,
I’ve been thinking of and praying for you, and others I know in the path for a number of days. May the Lord keep you safe in His care and make you a blessing to those who evacuate to Alexandria.

    Keep us posted.
