A Christian, Anglican, Lawyer, Father and Prison Minister, On Church and Life
Bobby is a member of Grace, Monroe.
There is so much I have in common with Bobby theologically speaking, I don’t even know where to begin. Suffice it to say, I am, like it or not, an Anglo-Catholic. Period. I won’t go to Rome, though, unless I just don’t have a viable Anglican option.
Back to GAFCON and Western Louisiana, I am a member of St. Michael and All Angels in Lake Charles. Like Grace and St. Paul’s, we are a Network church in a diocese that is…not. This is a very, very serious matter to our parish. These three churches are intertwined and important to each other, I believe, as most members don’t even realize.
Will we morph into a new or parallel province in North America? I fervently pray so. When it happens is very key. What if it is after our Bishop retires, and we are unsuccessful (as so many predict) of getting another excellent orthodox bishop? Even if we are able to take this step as a diocese, it will still split, I fear. Dioceses like ours are in for a messy time. BUT, we have ALL known this for many years now. All I know for sure is that St. Michaels is the last TEC church that I will ever belong to. And it just makes me so sad…
