THIBODAUX (AP) — Authorities in Lafourche (lah FOOSH) Parish say they’ve made an arrest in the 1992 murder of an Episcopal priest.
Derrick Odomes — now 28 years old — was booked with first-degree murder in the death of the Reverend Hunter Horgan.
A member of the congregation at St. John Episcopal Church in Thibodaux found Horgan’s body in the church office on August 13th in 1992. He had been bludgeoned and stabbed. His wallet and 1990 Toyota Camry were taken; the car was found hours later, backed into a parking lot as if to hide the license plate.
Odomes was 14 at the time, and lived across the street from the church cemetery.
